- Avoid sugar, and sugar containing foods. This includes lollies, chocolate, cakes, pastries, biscuits, dried fruit, fruit juice, soft drinks.
- Eat small frequent meals.
- Eat protein foods at every meal. This includes meat, fish, eggs, nuts and seeds, nut butters, dairy products (cheese, yoghurt), tofu.
- Consume 2-3 cups vegetables/salads per day.
- Choose wholegrain products.
- Consume fish 3-4 times per week. The best choices are salmon, sardines, mackerel and herring.
- Avoid coffee and caffeinated products.
- Avoid alcohol and soft drinks.
- Drink 2-3 litres of water daily.
- Exercise.
- Find appropriate ways to deal with any stress in your day.
