  1. Reduce intake of refined sugar and highly processed foods - these make the immune system sluggish.
     
  2. Reduce fatty foods - especially fried foods, and hidden fats in pastries, chips, cakes and biscuits.
     
  3. Increase intake of omega 3 fatty acids - flaxseed, fish (salmon, mackerel, herring, trout, sardines are best).
     
  4. Opt for wholemeal products such as breads and pastas - more nutrient and fibre dense.
     
  5. Include fibre in the diet - fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, legumes, whole grains - high in vitamins and minerals.
     
  6. Eat several smaller meals per day to help ease burden on digestive system.
     
  7. Reduce intake of coffee and caffeine products such as Cola drinks.
     
  8. Reduce soft drinks as they leach vital nutrients from the body.
     
  9. Eat in peaceful surrounds without TV or reading.
     
  10. Eat a wide variety of foods from the different food groups.
